Reisanational Park. A Must

Reisa National Park, where majestic waterfalls, deep canyons, and Arctic flora create an awe-inspiring tableau for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. Renowned for its vibrant salmon population, the Reisa river is a haven for anglers seeking an authentic and rewarding fishing experience. However, If I’m not mistaken, unfortunately you will not be able to fish at Reisa till the year 2026. At least for Salmon fishing that is. Let’s put fishing on the back burner though. Let’s admire Reisa National Park for the stunning Reisa River, a waterway that weaves its way through the heart of the park.

Main attraction; Mollisfossen Waterfall

The crown jewel of Reisa National Park is undoubtedly Mollisfossen, a majestic waterfall that plunges dramatically from the rugged cliffs. The sheer force and beauty of Mollisfossen make it a must-see attraction for visitors, offering a surreal backdrop for photographers and nature enthusiasts alike. To be thoroughly honest, there are many other waterfalls at Reisa as you travel up the stream from the visitors center, so don’t feel like Mollisfossen is the only waterfall.

Hiking Trails

Although I got to Reisa National park by foot, via the North Arctic Trail- an amazing trail for hikers and backpacking enthusiasts- you can always travel by car straight to the visitors centre where there is plenty of parking. Once at Reisa, the national park boasts an extensive network of hiking trails catering to various skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker seeking a challenging ascent or a casual stroller yearning for breathtaking views, the park’s trails will lead you through diverse landscapes, from lush valleys to high plateaus

Wildlife Encounters

Reisa National Park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, offering the chance to spot Arctic animals in their natural habitat. Keep your eyes peeled for reindeer, eagles soaring overhead, and maybe even the elusive wolverine. The park’s diverse ecosystems provide a sanctuary for a variety of fauna, adding an element of excitement to your exploration.

Seasonal Splendours

While I was in Reisa in late July and stemming into August, every season unveils a different facet of Reisa National Park’s beauty. From the ethereal Northern Lights dancing across winter skies to the vibrant colors of Arctic flora in summer, the park is a year-round destination that promises ever-changing wonders with each visit.

Conclusion

Reisa National Park beckons intrepid travelers to embark on a journey into the heart of Norway’s Arctic wilderness. Whether you seek the thrill of outdoor adventure, cultural immersion, or simply the serenity of nature’s embrace, Reisa National Park offers an unforgettable experience. Pack your sense of wonder and embark on a voyage through this pristine landscape, where the echoes of cascading waterfalls and the whispers of Arctic winds will leave an indelible mark on your soul.
